The following blogs represent a series of schematic versions SMASH has produced for the Midnight Ridazz bicycle collective. The three versions are titled The Soft Scheme, The Diner Scheme, and The Black Gorilla.

BLACK GORILLA
Proposed upon the premise of not being the sole touring vechicle for the Midnight Ridazz, the BLACK GORILLA operates as the mother ship for the entire fleet. It is a mobile event space, a bike shop, a public park, a music venue, an art gallery, a barber shop, a putting green,or anything else that it could possible need or want to be....on wheels. A open space is sandwiched b/t the service blocks and wheel wells. A 20' wide overhead door rolls up out of the way to reveal the space while a subfloor covered with astro-turf deploys from beneath. Let the good times roll.

SOFT-SCHEME
A soft surface lines the innards of the vessel like a fine coat. Acoustic foam, mattresses, cushions, and beanbags seat and sleep 30 in any imaginable arrangement. Remove all beanbags to reveal a spongy funhouse / flex space. A rolling media den, an in-house music venue, recording studio, digital theater. Toilet, shower, kitchenette are all included. Bike storage is handled on the exterior with a series of steel loops that allow loose arrangements of bicycles and storage.

DINER SCHEME
Diner Bus outfitted with booths and tables, seats 30. Sleeping loft above. Full service kitchen. Roof used for bike storage during transit. Break bread with the group and extend the party outside with mounted outdoor seating.
